Oklahoma's Tallgrass Prairie

Clouded Sulfur on Pale Purple Conflower

About The Image

I got up way before daylight and drove the hour plus drive so I could catch the sunrise over the prairie at this particular location.  What greeted me was mostly overcast skies.  But, just on the horizon the sky was clear enough to allow the sun to pop through for a few minutes before being absorbed by the overcast.  This Wild White Indigo was swaying in the wind and I had to work fast to capture it before the sun disappeared.

It is then my heart and my thoughts drift affectionately to why I am there suspended toward that rendezvous of time and place. It is good for the soul to do such things…to spend time alone with nature…krb
