The morning light in the high altitude of Colorado retains a brilliant, clear and vibrant character and imparts those qualities on whatever it happens to illuminate. While driving in the north central part of the state late one September, I stopped to stretch my legs and wake up from the early departure time. I waited for the sun to crest the hill expecting this river scene to provide an interesting view. I wasn't disappointed.
