My day reduced to a last few moments, I held my breath as the sun gently closed in on its inevitable setting...and then...it was gone. What remained was a renewed spirit strenghtened by a revitalized heart, warmed by the primordial glow that settled across the plains...krb 
Oklahoma's Tallgrass Prairie Preserve is one of the most unique ecosystems across the great plains. It is the single largest track...over 35,000 acres... still in its original state. I spent an entire day here on this trip taking the time to hike into the prairie to get a sense of what it must have been like once long ago to stand in a sea of grass with no roads...no powerlines...no connection to the modern world. Spectacular sunsets are a common view in this uncommon land.
