The Umpqua River Lighthouse is well over 100 years old and sits on a ridge overlooking the Umpqua River Bar, where the Umpqua River meets the Pacific ocean. I had the priviledge to take care of the old lighthouse during my years stationed at Winchester Bay, Oregon. It was one of my favorite places. This image was shot from the beach with a 300 mm zoom lense late in the evening when fog shrouded the surrounding hills and the wind blew the beach grasses into a tangled mosaic of motion.
